It is the responsibility of all employers to ensure equipment used by staff is both safe and fit for purpose.
All portable appliances should be tested on a regular basis in order to minimise the danger of electric shock.
The person undertaking the testing must be competent to inspect and test an electrical appliance in order to determine if it is safe to use based on the inspection and test results.
The course is designed for people with a good relative knowledge of electrical equipment, and who understand the safety requirement of today’s standards.
The course demonstrates to the candidate how to visually inspect and carry out relative meter tests in order to confirm that an appliance is in safe working order.
