The City and Guilds 2399 solar PV course will give an electrician or part ‘P’ installer a good solid grounding in environmental technologies as well as the practical experience of hands on installation of a PV system.
The 2399 qualification is recognised by the MCS accreditation board and all the governing bodies and will be a valuable addition to your qualifications.
The full course is split into 3 parts: Units 2399-11 and 2399-12 are required for MCS accreditation
This unit will give you a greater understanding of all the different techonolgies out there and enable you to advise the customer of the best one to satisfy their requirements.
This unit is required to obtain the full Level 3

This unit is designed to give the candidate the confidence to install and maintain a PV system which includes;
Assessment of the installation,

For candidates looking to gain MCS accreditation units 2399/11-12 would be a very important step towards this goal
Units 11 & 12 are delivered over 5 full days Monday to Friday
A separate course is available for candidates who want the full qualification incorporating 2399-201
The City & Guilds courses have been designed for qualified, electrically trained persons who will be required
to design, install and test photovoltaic systems for accreditation onto the micro-generating scheme.
Candidates must hold appropriate qualifications related to electrical installation such as knowledge of the IEE Wiring Regulations
(C&G 2381/2382) and/or inspection and testing (C&G 2391).
